I'm new to the trailcam thing but I'll give an honest assessment of what I think, eventhough I can't compare use to any other brand or model. My cam is not the 3G model it's the older 2013 model, bought brand new. It's a cellular version and set up with the sim card was easy enough. I have this one about 40 min away from home. I live right in the Twin Cities and my cam is not exactly what I'd call the middle of no where so I'm getting great antenna signal. I took day and night test pics behind my house and the quality was no better or worse than other peoples pics I've seen with various cams. The only two complaints I have so far about the cam is, one, the soonest you can get your pics is every two hours, batches of the ones taken during that time. You can't shorten that time but you can extend it to save on data transmission. And two, ten seconds is the fastest you can set the cam to ready for the next pic, you can set the shutter to snap 6 at once, rest for ten then the next snapshot round. I do like the ability to go online and make adjustments to my cam, such as sensitivity, shutter speed, turn it on and off......saves from having to go in field and make changes. Right now I put in 8 brand new lithium AA's, we'll see how long they last. I do have the rechargeable lithium packs and solar panels, I'll wait until later in the year to use them so I won't have to go in anymore once it's closer to the season opener. I have my cam lock boxed to the tree about 12 feet off the ground pointed down on an angle. I did this to deter vandalism more than theft since it's cabled to the tree and lock boxed. If you want the cam you'll have to cut the tree down to get it........but if you do, this cam has movement detection and will send you an email about the sudden movement, also even if you take out the batteries it emits a theft GPS signal for three days and you can track your camera down, knock on their door and ask for it back........politely of course. I set up a mineral site with liquid Sugar Beet Crush, endorsed by Tiffany and that other dude....sorry Lee. It was on clearance at Walmart, whatever, I will be getting some MonsterRaxx as soon as I can since I've seen others on here use it with great results, and I'm down with supporting local business. As the pics roll in on my cam I'll put some on here just to show the day and night performance of this camera and model. Here's a couple. One's an ugly mug close up and the other is me putting out the mineral. I coated that old log and also cleared a three foot circle in front of it and soaked the dirt, I'll see if they like dirt or log flavor more.
