im wondering if its time to spray the area im going to plant in spring ?just about 1 acre and im wondering if I spray first then after weeds die that I spread lime and fertilizer befor I disk area.? thanks for any suggestions
Get a soil sample! As for when to spray kill we always spray kill before tilling, then till....then wait a week or two for all the churned up seeds to germinate and spray kill those...then you are ready to seed what you want in there. (Liming and fertilizing prior of course.)
This. Spring planting something other than buckwheat at this point may be futile depending on soil results. If they're poor, amend it fast after doing what Ty mentioned above. Pelletized lime can activate quicker than pulverized, but it's not as effective long term. It may be an option to kick start this if time isn't on your side. You will want to get the lime integrated into the soil either way.
