It sounds like you guys are sympathetic to harvesting deer. There are no perfect conditions when hunting. There are just more experienced means and methods when taking game. Where does that experience come from? .... Time in the Field. Shots and shot opportunities. Talk is cheap until you are in the moment and that moment is individualized by every bow hunter under their own hunt.

With that said. Settling in and practice are important factors but packing out the deer however is the objective.

A miss at 50,70, and then you took a shot 96? Definetly calculated risks...

It was wrecked when the words "96 yards" came up.

If your stalking was fine you wouldnt need to take a 96 yd shot......3 bucks...1 of them wounded and none of them on the ground......4 extremely low percenatge shots that all missed the mark.....

It boggles my mind that you think you are effective and ethical at those ranges with the stats you've presented....that distance should not be considered a "shot opportunity" with a bow....no matter who you are or what your skill level is...get the rifle out if you want to shoot football fields at a living breathing animal that can react quicker than you can blink an eye

Didn't you guys know that the more "likes" you give, the farther you can shoot?

I'll give it a shot. Maybe I can increase from my max of 30yds to 40yds

As much as I disagree with his shot selection, I see no reason to delete his thread.

Honestly, GA at this point it would be fine if you did delete it. Sharing your hunt at this site was a poor choice. I just got off the phone with a brother bow hunter that I met in the field out there and him and his son said they did not see my buck but thanked me for the tip and said they got into more deer than they had seen in a long time and they had a great time.
Anyway, GA, delete it. I am evaluating this site myself and getting the feeling that there may be other places and people to share the sport with.

Good luck finding a site that will support a 96 yard shot on a living animal.
