Is this a good release for the money? And what is better a Velcro and buckle type?

    Lot of people like it.

Velcro is fast but noisy to readjust in the field.

    Buckle is consistent for anchoring.

Can't speak on the release other than I know most people that try seem to like it.

For a strap go with a buckle. Quieter, quicker and more consistent.

For me I'm a Carter Quickie with a buckle shooter.

I have shot one a few times. I will be picking one up as my primary release for this year.

I have the WiseGuy and have used it the last five years. Great release. My groups really closed up when I started to use it. Great trigger, nice and smooth. I can't say that I find it noisy in the field with the velcro. Once I have it on, it makes no noise, and I know where the strap needs to end when I pull it through the buckle part. If I do need to readjust, I just hold it against me and that can really quiet it down when opening up the velcro. I hardly ever have to do that though.
