OK, got the new Z7 today and got it set up. I have a problem with the sight. I really like this sight, it is a Spot Hogg Hunter sight with the wrapped pins, its very bright and easily adjustable. My problem is this, I cant adjust the sight over enough to get on target. At 20 yards I am still 8-10" too far to the right and the gang adjustment is maxed out. I like the sight, I like the bow, maybe this sight/bow combo just wont work, any thoughts?

Are the bow and arrow tuned? It almost sounds like you have a severely weak spine. Tune bow/arrow first, then adjust sight to POI.

I agree with Bruce, there is something wrong with the tune of this bow/arrow combo. This bow should accept any sight and have more than adequate sight adjustments. How about listing your exact set up.

Make sure that your rest is good then look at your arrow tuning.

Thanks guys, I am not a "bowguy" so I relied on the shop that I bought the bow from for help. I got a good deal on the bow and accessories but was skeptical of the method they used to tune my bow. I am shooting a new Z7 28.5" @ 70lbs. with a spott hogg hunter sight, a octane hostage pro rest and Beman ICS 400 hunter arrows. I am thinking of heading to Bass Pro Shops where I bought the sight and letting them help with tuning.

What is meant by "weak spine"? Are you referring to arrow stiffness? I am shooting Beman ICS Hunter 400 arrows.

spine is the stiffness of the shaft. A .400 spine is way to weak for your bow at 70#. They should have tuned the bow with your arrows or arrows of a similar nature but they should have known that a .400 spine is to weak for your bow. you will likely need something in the .340 range.

    For reference I shoot a 29" arrow, .400 out of a 58# bow
