I always liked the Boss Hogg because the dial was to the rear. I have heard and read good things about the Fast Eddie. Either way Spot Hogg makes a quality sight. Lots of people complain about the weight but they really are not that bad. Its funny many complain about the weight then add more weight to the front of a stabilizer
While I'm with you on not complaining about weight, placing weight on a stabilizer is totally different. I place stabilizer weights to balance the bow, a heavier sight takes more stabilizer weight to balance, thus compounding the problem. Heavier sight+extra stabilizer weights yields a higher than ideal bow weight. Now that doesn't bother me personally as I'm used to and like shooting a heavy bow. With that said, I prefer the forward dial as you can adjust with the quiver on.
I love my 3 pin hogg father. sturdiest sight i have ever owned, it gets the pins pretty far out there, and I also really like the 1-7/8" housing. I have NO experience with other spot hogg models though.
My bow weights over 8lbs. I hunt spot and stalk. most people hunt from trees or a blind. anyone that complains about a few ounces on a sight needs to be smacked unless the are doing some crazy 4 days in backwoods hunt. just my opinion.
I have the tommy Hogg and before I bought it I read all kinds of reviews saying that it was a heavy sight but I went ahead and bought it and I do r regret anything. I love the sight!
I think I will be swapping my Hunter out for a Fast Eddie. Love the multi pins but the picture blurs up bad with them for me now. The Fast Eddie comes with a second pin that should help cover most of what I need here in the south east.
Even though I like my 7 pin IQ, I've really been thinking about switching to a single or 3 pin Spott Hogg. My dad just got an HHA but hasn't put it on his bow yet so I've never even tried a single pin. Any opinions on Spott Hogg vs HHA?
HHA has the brightest pins on the market and is pretty much setting the standard for movable sights. Spot Hogg is tough. If you wound your animal you could finish it off with the Spot Hogg if all else fails. But in all seriousness Spot Hogg does offer the movable (MOB)sights with multiple pin options as well as a single pin and HHA does not. Either way you get a quality sight.
Hahaha. They both are in the same price range and I've heard nothing but good things about both. Thanks for your input and I'm jealous of your bow setup in your signature haha. I ALMOST went with a Defcon but at the time I couldn't afford it
