I like sports as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't classify myself in the same category as some people. That being said, I have NO idea how some people (including some of you on here) can remember so many names of current athletes (outside of your favorite team and not even a standout player within the league). For instance, I'm a Red Sox fan, and I can name off the depth chart for the most part (aside from all of the AAA call-ups they're having with their injuries this year), and I know the starters for the Steelers. I also know some of the names of major players in both of these leagues (more in baseball than football). I have friends who can rattle off names of athletes from all over the place and from all levels of play. They could be a 2nd string OT from a team in a different division than their favorite team, and they know the name. How the heck do you remember all of those names?:D Just curious.

around the horn, PTI, Jim Rome, sportscenter, newspaper, watching games, fantasy sports, talking with friends etc.... it just happens.

Kind of like people (mostly chicks) that know every actor and every movie or sitcom theyve played in.

Everybody needs to fill their minds with some type of information. Some people fill it with more useless stuff than others. I prefer to fill my mind with the histories of obscure internet memes.

Brett Favre has 508 career touchdown passes

Robert Brooks had 1497 receiving yards in 1995

Devin Hester has 14 return touchdowns, had 2 in a game twice....

Micheal Jordan averaged 30.1 ppg thoughout his career

these are just a few of the things i have in my head...

Hey that's cool. Now that show and tell is over, how do you remember them?:poke: Just stick with you the instant you read/hear them? Just curious.

I know for a fact my mind doesn't work the way most guys must, because I can't remember names for anything (heck it takes my three weeks just to learn the names of my students).

I think for me its from watching and listening to ESPN and other sports shows throughout the day. Once you hear something over and over it kind of just stays in there. It probably also helps playing fantasy football, kind of have to know whats going on around the NFL if you want to be any good. I don't have a good excuse for remembering college football stuff, like I do with the NFL....I just like it.
