This is just a curiosity kind of thing, but I see in alot of people's signatures that they are sponsored by or pro staff of this company or a product. How are people going about getting this? I didn't think that companies sponsored or let anyone onto their pro staff without proving yourself first. So how are they doing it? Or are they just false and people put it on there for looks? Thanks in advance.
looks photoshopped mark hahah just kidding. I was sponsored by a few companies for bass fishing for a little while, then I spent 4 years in college and kinda fell out of tournament fishing. I always loved representing companies and products that I believed in, and still will speak positively of those companies today, not because they pay me or give me product but because I never would have put my name on it had it not been a good product from a good company. with that said, I have never thought about pro staffing for hunting products, sorry for interrupting!
It took years of hard work to earn my way onto the prostaffs I currently represent. If you work hard enough, kiss enough butt, and know the right people, you too can be on a prostaff. And thats what hunting is really all about. If you're interested in any of the prostaffs listed in my sig, let me know. I'll put in a good word.
Vito I of course am interested in maybe, possibly getting to be a prostaffer but I also know that like said above you have to work hard to get there, which i have no problem doing. If you would put a good word in i would greatly appreciate it, and welcome any help I can get.
You have to be willing to work shows, events, tournaments, etc (both local and national) to represent the brands. A lot of it is representation and marketing to support the brand. All the staffs that I am on required me knowing the groups ahead of time, building a repore (sp?), and filling out an application.
LOL.....the Pro Staffs i'm on is something i enjoy and work for , i actually cut down on a few and work for the ones that have proven themseves and that i have helped in the process , its personal , do i really need them in my signatures ? the answer is no , i dont need to advertise that i'm on pro staffs i only put the links in there to click on to so you can go to there web sites , and i've worked with them for so many years i'm like part of the familys , any questions with any products i'm a staffer for i'll go out of my way to help make things good for ya including product replacement
Oh its all good , just something i enjoy myself also , the key is as you mentioned .....( a product you believe in ) not just being a product w.hore )
I worked in a sporting goods store for six months and it is the best job I've ever had. It was the worst pay I've had since I was in high school and the work was a little mundane, but I never had to convince myself to go to work. I never felt stressed there either. It's my intention to make hunting and the outdoors my livelihood again someday, I just have to figure out how to do it.
Yeah, no offense HD. There has been a huge push in recent years to be a "pro" hunter, and that includes being on pro staffs. Everyone wants to be a hero. I don't believe you fall into that category.
Thanks for starting this thread. Love the staffs you're on btw. Seriously, what does it mean to be a pro-staffer? Do you get free gear? Do you get paid? Do you just love the company so much that you're willing to endorse them for nothing? Maybe if they called them something else it would be more clear, to me anyways.
