Which is better and why? Pros and cons for each design?

    Please discuss

I notice that most companies are incorporating a split limb bow or just switching completely. I have always been a fan of the split limb bows. I think that they shoot better and the looks are way better.

Split limbs are more vulnerable to twisting due to cable side torque.

    They're not "vulnerable"

Actually if you want to split hairs, one could claim the wider split limbs will give a little more lateral stability. Truth is that it makes little difference and you need to shoot what you like.

I prefer split limb, but I don't think it really matters. Just shoot what you want, as long as you're satisfied and comfortable.

I've stayed away from split limbs. I've always been concerned that tree limbs would get stuck in them while walking through thick brush. Is that true?

I've used both and never had any problem with either. Can't really say that I preferred one over the other.

Split limbs can be preloaded further. More energy. All fast duel cams are split

I've been hunting with them for several years. All the way back to the Hoyt carbonite limb days. Never had a limb get caught in one.

The split limbs do eliminate one of the biggest problems with solid limbs. The v in a solid limb is the weak point and used to be where a lot of solid limbs failed. Doesn't seem to be much if an issue anymore.

tfox is correct. Less stress points on a split limb.
