hes my kid brother and yeah he is a retard I'm pissed he would say something as stupid as that quite frankly
Again any newbie reading longislands crap advice....immediately dismiss it. These are some of the worst posts in recent memory
Everybody seems to be on bow hunting teams for a contest or something... If I was on team 11, I would seriously rethink who is all on the team...lol
I passed on three this morning, could have shot for the spine, but didn't even consider it. it's not an ethical shot. and I have yet to harvest my first bow deer. so... i'll pass on shots that have a higher liklihood to cause intense suffering and pain.
I figured LongIsland was a little green so I'll give the young man some slack. LongIsland- A little Info on a spine shot. It's not hitting the spine that kills the deer. It's hitting the spinal cord that's Inside/underneath the spine that will kill/paralize them. I know people that shoot 90 pound compounds shooting 600 grain arrows that have hit the spine accidently and did not penetrate the vertabrate In the spine. One particular Incident one of these guys that hit the spine shot the same buck 2 years later. His broadhead (Muzzy) went In maybe 1/2 to 3/4 Inch which was still In the spine. I saw It with my own eye's. He lung shot It the 2nd time. Just take the advise and use It. **** happens when one doesn't know better.
The size of the deer shouldn't make any difference. "I guess if a buck I was hunting hard or a monster came in and was right under me and if he passed me I wouldn't have another chance...I might take the straight down shot." Bad criteria for making that decision. Every deer we release an arrow on deserves our total respect and commitment to killing it cleanly. Just me...
LongIslandBowHunting- Your an idiot!! Last year I accidentally shot a doe in the spine with a rifle, and she dropped in the field and by the time I got up to where she was, she had crawled in to the woods about 20 yards, so I had to cut her throat and she was squirming and bawling out! Had to be the worst hunting experience if not any experience I've been through. The worst part was when I walked up there for a minute or two she just laid there looking at me waiting to see what i'd do, almost like a dog. I couldn't hardly sleep that night.
I feel you. Last year i came across a dying doe that i think was hit by a car. her leg was mangled. She was covered in snow and shivering. I had to help her and i did the right thing. Unlike longisland i respect the animals i hunt greatly. Spine shots are not ethical or humane. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
Well, no spine shot today, but the 6pt I double lunged only ran 40yds before falling dead! I had it dressed and in my truck 1 hr after shooting it!!
