Did Shoobie move to Long Island?

No hunter that has respect for his quarry would intentionally try a low percentage, unlikely to be lethal shot on a deer. A dead deer may be a dead deer, but theres a right way to do things and a wrong way. Heart and lungs from within your comfortable shooting range is the right way. A spine shot with huge room for error, a poor blood trail afterwards, and a suffering wounded deer is the wrong way.

I would never purposely spine a deer. Last year I had a good buck walk directly to me and then under my stand and straight away. I was at full draw the whole time. Really thought he would turn or at least give me a quartered away. I rattled him in and he was on a mission. Anyway I didnt take the shot. Had a few guys tell me that I was crazy to not take that shot. He did stop for a split second and I almost punched it but in the end I was happy with my decision to pass. The best part is I have pictures of him this year and I may get a second shot. I have made bad shots in the past and I learned the hard way. A buddie of mine spined a deer a few years ago and I heared it from the other side od the proportie. He had to throw a second arrow, it was a horrible exsperiance for him. I will only take a shot if I am confident I will get a double lung. I hear guys say go for the neck or go for the spine and its really a shame. A spined deer can end up suffering for quite some time. Squirming around, looking around, calling out, etc. Unfortunately it does happen but to take that shot on purpose is unethical to say the least. A deer at 20 yards broadside....Double lung all day.... Why someone would aim for the spine or the neck is besides me.

Ive found that if you gut shoot them you get to enjoy a long adventurous track job followed by feeling your local yote pack...always something to consider.

Hate to have to add this, but I hope all who read the words above know that I am joking...I hope...

If you shoot a yote while it's chewing on your gut shot deer, is that baiting?

hes 14 and wants attention so he started a controversial thread here give em a break, I can tell you he is stubborn but he wouldn't attempt that shot in a realistic situation and I can guarantee that. He's also quite ho headed. Rampaige sorry for what he said to you, you did the right thing and there is no doubt that you are an example of a well qualified bow hunter. The way that you searched so hard for that deer speaks numbers for your character again sorry for his absolutely rude and un called for comments. he is a kid and doesn't understand the magnitude of the comments he makes.

Personally, I prefer to just hit deer at 65 mph with the truck. 90% of the time its a quick death if you hit them just right. And not to mention the adrenalin rush you get from spilling beer all over your lap. I'm also being completely serious.:spam:
