Currently shooting gold tip hunter 300s with 100 grain inserts and 125 grain broadheads from Bear Escape @ 70 lb draw weight and 29" draw length and they shoot great out to 65 yards with Magnus broadheads. I have another dozen hunter 300s and would like to build a few of these longer so my Ramcats and Rage extremes would be in front of shelf at full draw. Current actual shaft lengths are 28.25 and would like New ones to be 29.5. Just wondering if the 100 grain inserts would weaken the spine too much.
good question. The answer is yes it will decrease the spine. however most likely they are still stiff enough to work for you. Your best bet is to just cut one or two and build them then try them. Your most likely going to get a reaction that is tunable. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
They will still be stiff enough I shoot 28 3/4" 350 spine out of my 70# 29" Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
If they are stiff you can always try a 50 grain insert Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thanks for the replies. Have been thinking about using 50 grain inserts instead of the 100 grain brass inserts. Would pick up some speed and probably still have enough "thump" putting weight around 460.
