Spine matching arrows.

    Has anyone had their arrows spine matched? Did it make a measurable difference in arrow grouping? Trying to decide if it's worth the $$ to have it done. It makes sense in theory.

    I think the further you get from what the spine should be to the bow setup, the more the stars have to align for good grouping. I have shot 340's back to back with 400's. The 400's group well, but a little higher at POI than the 340's (naturally, because they are a little heavier). But, the 400's with that same bow are a little more temper-mental as they find mistakes a little easier in form.

    I have been doing that....I was referring to having each shaft indexed...Having the seam marked so that it points up when on the rest. Having each arrow fletched in exactly the same spot. The thought is that having the seam off to one side creates a "lean" in the arrow flight, which is why often times you might have a couple arrows in a batch that seem to shoot better than others....Those are the ones that by luck were fletched with the spine up or down instead of off to the side.
