Spikes on a Fawn???

    Looks like spots to me... Ive never seen a spike fawn... forgive if it's common...:p

    So a yearling can have spots? That's new to me too....

    I've seen lots of deer with those row of "spots" done thier backs.

    Those "spots" might just be where the deer was transitioning from it's summer coat to it's winter coat. The doe I shot on Sept 5th had those "spots". I noticed the pic was taken on 9/16 so it is very likely that is the reason why..unless those actually are spots, then I don't know what the heck is going on with that deer.

    For those interested.. here are some more pics... I know he's too big to be a fawn.. but I see more spots than just on the back row...

    I believe you guys about it being a yearling... but have you ever seen a yearling with distinctive fawn spots?

    I don't know how common that is, It's hard to tell what those spots even are. They may be white spots of hair or they may even be places where there is no hair. He is probably in a transitional state between summer and winter coat. If they are white spots I doubt thats very common at least I have never seen that.
