Next year I wanna buy another bow to shoot with for fun and also have as a backup bow for hunting if needed. This year I got myself a new HTR and love it. I want a bow that is 50-60 lbs DW but I want it to be a speed bow. I've always wanted a blazing fast bow for my dw so I was wondering what your recommendations of some bows to look at. I don't care if its a bow that is 3-5 yrs old either. Just would like some bows to check out.

Also are all speed bows low let off? Are their any that have 80% let off?

Mine has 80% let off and it may be old but it shoots great. Anything with a true ibo of 335+fps is a speed bow in my book. The chill r and chill x are good shooters with a nice draw cycle. I love the pse decree and I really want one. High country makes some pretty good bows too. There's a lot more speed bows out there to look at but the pse decree and Mathews chill r and chill x are a few of my favorites.

Check out the BowTech Destroyers both the 340 and 350.

Forgot about those. I wanted to try both of them but never got my hands on one.

2014-2015 Xpedition Xcentric...draws smooth and has a huge valley like an elite, brick back wall and blazing fast...when I owned the Xcentric 6 it shot a 400gr arrow the equivalent of 360 IBO at my 28.5" DL I think it was ~318fps. My bow is pretty fast but that thing was smoking fast and dead quiet. Probably should have kept it.

Don't want to hear that JDUB.

While I love my '12 Insantiy, I'm really tempted by the Xcentric. I keep getting the urge to go to my shop and test one, but Im scared I'll go home with it.

Like testing driving a car...once you do you know it's just a matter of time before its in your driveway.

OP: interested in an Insanity? It definitely qualifies as a speed bow.

You better go try one...I absolutely love this bow...Lets see in the past 5 years I had two Hoyts, a Bowtech and now 2 Xpeditions...the Xpedition hands down best bow I've shot period. I've shot the Elites, the Mathews Chills, the HTR, The new Bowtechs...but they just aren't as good for me...I owned both a Hoyt Nitrum Turbo and the Xcentric at the same time for a month this Spring...liked the Hoyt a lot but I sold it because the Xpedition just did everything better. Draw cycle is demanding but once you learn the muscle memory it is awesome. I won't be selling this Xcentric 7 for a while.

Thanks, I definitely got some to look up. Just for ****s and grins, are their any older bows that ibo over 340 that you think could be picked up for like 300-500 next year? I wouldn't mind getting something older either. I even just saw a PSE Decree on craigslist for 500 so maybe next year that could be a bow I could look up as well since that bow is pretty fast as well.

I see a lot of reezen 6.5's out there. I love mine and don't think I'll be trading it in or selling it. There was a bowtech invasion on Craigslist somewhere in MN and a destroyer 340 and 350. Just for the heck of it I look on Craigslist just to see what's out there and if they're good deals.

I shoot the Destroyer 350 and love it! I go out and shoot the new bows but nothing has compared to it. But I know it's different for everyone. It's a very fast and smooth bow, but if your form is off the bow will let you know.

You could get a used pse evo in that price range and possibly a new one. That is a great bow and its really fast but has a 75% let off.

Elite pulse totally fits the bill. Can be had in that price range, 80 percent let off, and 343 ibo.

I shoot the Xpedition Xcentric as my second bow to the HTR, or is the HTR my second bow. Both shoot so sweet it is hard to choose. the Xcentric is incredibly smooth, quiet, and fast. You will love it if you shoot it. Did I mention it can be set to very high let-off. Nothing like holding 13lbs with a 70lb draw weight.

That is what I'm seriously looking at, getting an Xcentric 7 this year. I too had a Nitrum Turbo and have a Nitrum 30. I recently sold the Turbo because I just did not like the overall weight it packed. I like a bow below the 4 lb mark.

I'm giving Hoyt the benefit of the doubt to come out with a bow that can compete with the Xcentric 7 for next year. I'm not necessarily a fanboy of Hoyt, they are the best bow I've shot so far - for me.

I want a bow that is 32" ATA, 7" brace height, and shoots in the 340 range. The Xcentric 7 has that, let's see if Hoyt can step up to the challenge (and get out of the dadgum short bow market).

I love my MR6! Very fast and comfortable to shoot. My buddy has a Bowtech 360 and loves that as well.

I had an RPM 360 last year and really liked it. At 28.5" draw length, 58# draw weight, and shooting a 379 grain arrow with a loaded string it was shooting right at 304 fps verified.
