So I have noticed lately that my pins have been blurry. I always assumed this was something everyone experienced but now I'm thinking it is just me. I have always thought I had good eyes but it has been several years since I have been to the eye doctor and I think it is time to schedule an appointment... In the meantime I have been considering getting a Specialty Archery Verifier lens for my peep. I have the 1\8 inch Specialty peep so I wont have to buy the peep just the lens. I know I could go to a larger peep and that would probably help but I don't want to do that with fear of losing some consistently with more wiggle room in the peep. I do have a few questions on the lens though. First and biggest question is are they legal to hunt with and in 3-D. (I don't shoot a lot of 3-D but I do maybe 2-3 a year and would still like to with the verifier.) The second biggest question is will they fog up in a hunting situation? Third biggest question is will it really help with sharping the pins and keeping them from being blurry? My last question is how do I know what Verifier to get with out buying each and trying them to see which one I like? If you have ever tried these and could give me any answers or tips I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
Thanks, I talked to my local pro shop and he said he had the same problem so he also tried the Verifier lens and said it did help clear the pins up but in return it blurred his target?? He said it may not happen like that to me and to just swing by and we would try a few out to see what works the best. He said he would let take them outside and shoot a few times to see if it would blur the target. He said if that didn't work I could try one of there hooded peeps which I really don't want to change peeps because I really like the peep I got. It just bugs the crap out of me when my pins get blurry... I'll swing by there one day this week and give it a try and just take it from there I guess. Thanks for the feed back!!
Go to a dealer that has the "selection tool". You'll quickly figure out which one to buy. You want the one that clears up the pin(s) satisfactorily but doesn't blur the target too much. Because they're "correction" not "magnification", most states and tournaments consider them legal.
If you aren't near a dealer I would suggest starting with the #1 verifier. Keep in mind that you will have to use a threaded peep to install the lens, I use a 37 degree hooded peep and it serves me well.
