I dont have any experiences myself (there is no bear in our part of the state) but I have had customers say it draws bear in.
I've had bears visit all my MR sites, but they just sniff it and move on. I started a new MR site two weeks ago and put a camera on it a week later. During the second week it was out I had 2800 pictures. Granted, I forgot to change the delay setting so it was taking a pic every second. But, there were at least 5 different bucks in it and lots of does and fawns, at all times of the day. Just started my fifth MR site on Saturday and will put a camera on it this weekend. I'm sure the results will be the same.
Dan, I am curious why you wait a week or so to put out a camera everytime? I would love to know how quickly it draws them in.
Only because I didn't have a camera with me at the cabin. I started one in the middle of the woods on our north 120 on March 25th. They found it on March 30th and on that day there were 5 deer in front of it at once. When I started it I just raked the leaves back in an area about 3'x3' and poured two bags out. In less than 4 weeks that spot turned into a mud hole and the deer were hammering it like crazy. I didn't bring that card home with me, but I did take a picture of the mineral site this weekend. This is 26 days after I started the site. There's a reason my family bought 60 bags recently. Never have I seen a mineral work this well. Not to mention a high quality mineral with such a low salt content. Maybe I'm weird, but I love the smell of it too. Whenever I pour a bag out I have to smell the opened bag.
Cool, I am checking out some new property this week and if it looks good I am getting an order placed and gonna try it out!
