All you need is 40#'s........hahahaha......but no really, I'm shooting about 70#'s, I would think that should do the job.

Any broadhead pushing a 2" diameter cut will need a bit more KE than say a 3 blade fixed head.......In some cases the 3 blade may have more cutting surface, but still won't need as much KE. I wouldn't feel very comfortable with anything under 50# pushing a 2" CD.

I shot quite a few deer (5 I think, 4 for sure) with it last year and two the year before @ 61#KE out of a well tuned bow. I got partials on all of them, which was good enough IMO, in that I had two blood channels, but I didn't have the luxury of examining my arrow at POI.

My bow was maxed out and incapable of producing anymore KE. I shot a heavier arrow but the slowness of arrow offset the added weight and the KE basically stayed the same.

I have upgraded bows this year and my new set up is producing 69#KE. I am anxious to see what, if any, improvement I see this year. Do I want a complete pass through? Sure. Is it the "end of the world" and deal breaker if I don't? No it isn't as long as I get good solid partials and have an entry and exit hole. JMO
