About 1 week ago it looked like the rut was shaping up to be great, small bucks were starting to chase, then WHAM, nothing. I haven't seen one mature buck chasing or anything! What's the deal?

Non existent here too. I had one trail pic of a mature deer with a doe on 10-27. Have not seen 1 from the stand. Heck, I haven't even seen any young bucks chasing. I've heard the same from a many others across the Midwest.
    It's beyond weird

I had a 2.5 yr old 7pt. Running his azz off about a week ago he was freakin out lookin for does. A few days b4 that my buddy saw my #1 buck and another shooter and 2 smaller bucks chasing. Just seems like the action is fizzeling out. I dont think theyre locked down yet. Still seein few does with fawns??? Real weird

Yea its different where im at to than years past. Usually i see fawns on their own by now and buttons for sure have already been run off. We are seeing them still with their moms. We have at least 4 mature 3.5 + bucks cruising through the property. Idk. Im too ignorant to have an answer.

I was in Randolph Co. from the 6th to the 15th and action was fairly slow.. I did shoot a 130" buck on the 7th while he was out cruising, and did see other bucks out cruising but not like we normally see out there this time of year!

Yep it was on this last weekend. Right before this monsoon hit. My buddy laid eyes on our #1 buck we call Goliath. Hes a mainframe 10 with stickers and kickers everywhere. He was doggin 2 does hard and several other bucks cruising. Didnt take any shots but it def turned hot.
