Hello I'm Allan. I'm new to the website but not new to hunting. I used to bow hunt years ago before I joined the Army but had to give it up for several years. I've been out of the Army for three years now and have been rifle hunting since I got out until this year. I have been an avid hunter since I was a kid and love chasing whitetails. Hopefully I can learn some new tips and tricks from this site since I don't know to many bow hunters from my area.
Same tactics as rifle hunting only... more practice... more scouting... better scent control... more missing... less success... longer tracking jobs... more expense... more pride swallowing... more times going without a kill... but what a great sense of accomplishment when it all comes together for the first time. Hooah!
Patience is a must. I'm blessed to kill 3-4 deer every year bow hunting on top of countless hogs. Stay positive and focuses. It is more challenging than gun hunting but that's why I do it. You win some and lose a lot but keep at it. "Live Life at Full Draw"
Yes that is true! I had my beginners luck already this year. It has been about eight years since I have bow hunted, missed a 10 pointer first day out and got an 8 pointer a couple days later that ran maybe 30 yards and went head over heels. but two more tags to fill and I'm sure many more hours in the stand!
I'm always blessed to have meat in the freezer! Would be nice to do some hog hunting. We have hogs around here their just hard to get close to. One day I will get within range..
I'll probably kill one this morning if the sun ever rises. I'm waiting patiently in my stand now "Live Life at Full Draw"
