They deserved to get bet the way they played....

Kudos to Downy for shootin' 400 times. Without him they would be some dead cocks.

    HA no doubt....
I really thought Farve had more smarts than he did on some of his plays. Rookie mistakes. Kentucky, I'm crushed! I never thought I would see the day Daren Horn would beat Kentucky everytime he played'em. The Williams deserve to get smashed...spoiled.

I don't have anything against UK. Nothing at all.

I don't dislike Germans because of Hitler, either.

LMAO I did the exact same thing (sign into BH.com)....too funny. 19-1 is turrible as Charles Barkley would say.

Downey was ok, but hell he shot 30 times to get those 30 points, anyone could do that. He did NOT beat us, seemingly 10 missed layups and getting out rebounded as a huge team beat us.

Demarcus Cousins could not be contained and PPat might as well not have even suited up (and he is our best player!).

I'm really dissappointed in Pat and Bleadsoe. Bleadsoe played like he was in a pickup game, and like you said TM, he might as well just stayed home. He didn't score a single point in the second half. That is what you get when you don't come prepared....

Yep the common curse of a new #1 ranked team. They seem to get upset within a week. I wonder if they remain #1 or Texas gets it back....... or maybe Kansas. Personally I think Syracuse is the best team in the country. They play some scary good defense.

I watched that So. Carolina/Florida game last Saturday and Downy is a great player. Bit of a ball hog I would say and it has to be slightly frustrating towards his teammates.

I have to disagree with that Trevor. All 5 UK players had to keep eyes on Downey anytime he had the ball, which was 90% of the time SC had possession. Sure his shooting percentage wasn't great, but he broke down the defense whenever he wanted. UK had no one that could come close to guarding him, and they ran 2 and 3 guys at him many times. SC had 16 offensive boards and 22 second chance points. They don't get those without Downey drawing so much attention. Without Downey, SC loses by 20+.

I could see Downey winning SEC player of the year and Wall winning NCAA player of the year. That would be interesting.

I agree Downey broke down the defense, from what I hear it's hard to guard a VERY short fast guard who keeps the ball even lower, I'm not sure what the problem was. The rebounds had nothing to do with Downey, there is no excuse. Our team (including everyone on the bench) AVERAGES 6'7". We are never without atleast 1 6'10" to 6'11" guy on the court. We average a +15 rebound margin I think. WE simply didn't show up to play, minus Cousins.

I'm not downplaying Downey. he is a hell of a player and to this point has outperformed any other SEC player....but scoring large numbers is often skewed by necessity. Jodie Meeks averaged huge scoring numbers as well, but wasn't the best player in conference. He HAD to shoot high numbers of shots because he was on a crappy team, thus adding up to alot of points.

His poise down the stretch was amazing, but his overall game (scoring wise) was far from it imo. You miss 20 shots in a game, it wasn't an amazing performance.

For comparisons sake, since we are comparing Wall to Downey....Give Wall Downeys position (crappy team forcing him to attempt 29 FGs). Wall was 6-16 FG for 19pts, one of his worst performances of the year IMO. But, give him 29 attempts even with last nights numbers (missing SEVERAL layups he never misses) and he has around 35+ points....on a very off night for him. Both are good PGs, but if it wasn't for Walls turnovers, I think it'd be extremely clear who the POY is.

Again, Downey was good but it helps to be on a team like that and attempt umpteen FGs, trust me I watched it all last year with Jodie Meeks. Star Players on terrible teams MUST post large point avgs, regardless of FG%s.

I also agree I could see Downey winnin SEC and Wall winnin NPOY, which would be hilarious....but unless Wall steps it up in conference he won't be winning any awards. Demarcus Cousins has been the best player on our team by a longshot for the last several games. If he doesn't end up high in the lottery after this year, a lot of NBA teams are missing out (as much as I'd love for him to return).

    I don't know what's funnier....

    1. All the "We" references....
    or
    2. The fact that a "team like that" whooped "your" asses.

From an unbiased point of view I saw Downey shooting 413 FG attempts I think it was and making a LOT of junk heaved towards the basket. Again no personal preference of who won the game but that dude was putting up some serious funk that happened to go in.

One of my biggest pet peeves lol. I'll never understand it.

    NY.....

I actually got a phone call once, in college, from a buddy of mine at Wake Forest. We'd just lost to them, and he told me "WE kicked ya'lls asses"!

I just asked him which number he was.....and what postition he'd played.

Still sounded stupid, to me.......And hell.....he actually went there!

And I don't understand why a fan that is emotionally invested in a team, buys team gear and goes to games can't say "we" in reference to it. IMHO

GA....It just sounds "weird" if I were to say.....

"We held the Yankees to 1run/game, over our weekend series with them. We played great defense. And man, were we hitting our spots, or what?".

GA no big deal really. I just don't see how someone can refer to a team they like as "we". You're not really a part of the team. You don't have a number or play a position. When you say "we" it's like you're talking about your teammates.

"We had a tough game tonight". "We could have done a lot of things better". When YOU can't physically make an impact on the result of a game how can you say "we" this or "we" that?

The thing is this person is invested in the team both emotionally and financially (in my scenario). Not to mention that without the fan these players wouldnt even have the stage they have. Please don't get me wrong I'm not upset about it, I just don't understand the the frustration with it.

GA--I understand where you are coming from...you are deeply tied to the team you support. You CAN say WE. I have no problem with that at all. You are emotionally tied to your team and "feel their pain" and anguish when they lose.
