Soooo, what is the full moon going to bring this weekend

X2. Saw THE buck of my dreams Wednesday night...making scrapes at 5:30pm. It was warm, sunny, and breezy. Gotta be in the woods.

 

Maybe Germ can post his picture of his full moon thoughts like he did last year. Pretty much sums it up for me.

 

We're supposed to have frost here in the morning. Full Moon or not, I will be in the tree before daylight. I just have a strange feeling that tomorrow morning is going to be a good one where I hunt. I think the rut is about to get ramped up as I've been seeing several bucks by themselves with that "I'm on a mission" look and gait.

I've had some outstanding morning hunts during a full moon phase. I don't pay too much attention to it honestly. I only get so many days a year to hunt and unless the weather is extreme, I'm out there. My personal opinion is that once its gets to this time of year, the deer, especially bucks, will start moving regardless so long as the weather isn't too far out of whack. I think weather patterns and pressure have far more to do with deer movement than the moon.

 

It was super windy and mid 30's here ... never thought I would see anything, but saw a buck in the woods that winded me and a buck in the field on my way home .... it could be anytime now ......

 

Well the last three days its been all but full, Ill call it 7/8 Still getting good activity, havent seen any change yet!

 

mornings have beet real hot here all week. i am bummed i am working. Seems to turn on right around 8 and be fairly nonstop till 11. big boys seem to be showing thier faces around 9

 

Update: 3 sits, 0 deer.

 

Deer activity has been crazy in NY .... NYB just had a 130 walk by him at 15 yards .... deer were out everywhere.....on my way to work >

 

seen 12 does friday evening, and 10 does saturday, no bucks. 1 loud chainsaw! S.O.B.

 

Well that is pretty much how it went saturday evening
I didn't feel it was worth it to go to one of my "real" hunting spots, so I just went behind the house and was rewarded with a nice 8 pt. Can't kill em, if you aint out there.
