My prediction is that it brings us a lot of downtime in the stand to read books and play on our phones!

Temps supposed to warm up here and bring some rain with for the weekend. Which means I'll be spending some time doing work around the house. I doubt I'll hunt either morning. Probably just sit the afternoons and do a little stand prep/power scouting for November.

Agree...my experience is Full Moon that is "up" all night = terrible morning hunting. But, that is only when I can hunt typically...and I haven't hunted since Oct 2nd :violin: - so I'll probably give it heck in the morning if the rain is light enough. On a plus side, the moon phase and rise/set is setting up for a very nice rut trigger and dark nights Nov 5th - 12th will be peak around here.

    Good Luck!

Looks like we have a cold front moving through the middle of next week that's going to bring cold temps for Halloween weekend. If that holds true, we could see a very productive weekend in the woods. Knowing that makes it a little easier for me to take it easy this weekend, wash all of my gear, catch up on some sleep, and maybe even watch a little football.

Looks to be 10-15 degrees cooler Halloween weekend, however I'm limited, most of the time, to weekend hunting. So I'm still hitting it hard this weekend.

One thinks he has the moon all figured out and then another curve ball Is thrown. Yesterday evenings sit was full of deer and they moved early (hour and a half before dark). Go figure eh!

X2, I'm giving it heck from here on out. Decent wind for my plot stand tonight, and there's a front moving through.

Ben, with that SW wind, I'm thinking of trying something new in the AM, I'm just worried about getting in.

The moon is tough to figure out. Here in Louisiana it was in the eighties yesterday, but I still arrowed a seven point one hour and fifteen minutes before dark. Deer move when we least expect it. Yes, my dad is emailing photos so I can post the picture on here. That being said, I was playing tetris and contemplating getting down when he popped out.

As dry as it has been, if you can be in the woods at the right time before, after and even during the rain front, I feel it can be very productive. Thats when I shot my 11 pointer last year on the 23rd. It was a light rain all day. I watched the forecast, it said it would quit by 3-3:30. So I snuck out of work around 2:00 and headed out to my father in laws, got ready and sat in alight rain for about an hour. Did alittle tickling of horns and light grunt calls. Did 2 sequences probably 25 minutes apart. Rain did quit around 4ish and he came down to the south of me checking scrapes and curious about all the noise. He got the smoke show, so I feel fronts, not just cold fronts, but rain can produce good sits, light rain especially after all it has been dry. Plus crops are down and it still has been cool when sun is going down. Good luck everyone, I'll be hunting this afternoon and all day tomorrow, possibly sunday too!

I'm hunting the afternoons. Sunday morning, I'm going to try and do some low key scouting and see if I can find a few hot spots for early November. Sunday afternoon I've got a friend that is just getting started in hunting, and wants to tag along and run the camera.

Was out this morning, 2 fawns. Found some really ripped up scrapes, but I think they are being hit at night.
Back out again tongiht to a different spot.

Breezy, warm tomorrow & a full moon. I will complain all the way to my stand, and hopefully still kill something anyways.
