Nice shooting. That takes some pretty good video. I just pick a new cam as well. I got the Canon HF R30, it also has HD video I might just go out now and do something similar to you to get and idea of the zoom an compare it to yours.

Sweet deal, I had the Vixia HV30 it was nice but I think the quality of the newer HD cameras are more "sharp" and "clear" looking forward to it!

Thanks. I'm excited to get out this fall. Hoping to get my first buck kill on film.

Im pretty excited this year to, i started filming in late season (January) because i was overseas for the regular seasons and luckily for me NYS decided a doe management zone was needed in the south west, i miss-calculated the shot and shaved some brisket hair off, the range finder said 44 (pretty easy shot overall) BUT i went against my own rule of 3 zaps before i shoot, and shot the finder only once and hit a twig at the 44 yard mark the doe was at 54 yards. I learned a good lesson that day! Some footage from that hunt is on my teams YouTube page http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvfoDlQFPbc This was all done with the Canon Vixia HV30
