I picked up the Sony nx70u this year first winter filming. It was about 15 degrees today with wind chill and the audio on the camera didn't work. I tried the shotgun mic and the internal mic. I'm pretty sure it's the cold. I heated the cam up when I got home and it was fine. It worked when I first got in the tree. What can I do to prevent this and is this common on cold days?

I looked at the specs, and it appears the operating temp is only down to 32ºF. Here is the link

This doesn't mean it can't handle colder, but that it's the camera's ideal temperature. I wouldn't be surprised if the cold is the issue. You could try and get a case for it, or make one with pockets for hothands.

It's also been giving me a message during recoding to reconnect the microphone then audio disconnect until I just restart another record clip then it comes back. I'm going to contact Sony after the season is over.
