I just picked up used a Sony HDR cx380. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can mount a lens hood on it. It doesn't seem to have a threaded ring.
I think you are right. I guess I should have done more research before pulling the trigger on this one. I think I can use a step up ring. I will have to modify it by sanding off the threads on the backside and epoxy it to the camera. Going to be a project. I only have $200.00 into the camera, so I'll try the mod myself.
Yea I just recently pulled the trigger on a Canon VIXIA HFR400 and realized I can't set up a remote to my fluid head handle only input is for my my Shotgun Mic and no lens hood. But she'll do for now until its time to upgrade cameras. Good luck with it, post pics and let us know how it goes, interested to see how it comes out.
. Took a step up ring and sanded the threads off. Epoxyed it to the handycam. Looks clean think it should work. Ordered a new fluid head and a shotgun Mic. Also a telephoto 2x lens. Hope to get some turkey on film!
that's the plus with all the Sony cams low end to high end they all offer either a Lanc or AV/R jack for controller only the "pro" grade Canons have a port .....
ive used the cheaper remote that click isn't enough to worry bout man save your money just my opinion
If you need to try another remote take a look at the Sony Remote Commander I bought one for my Sony CX110 and it works great.
Does the zoom toggle "click" on this remote when used?? I am reading some reviews online, and would find that to be a negative...but not sure if this is happening on this exact studio 1 remote.
