Hey guys, going to be purchasing my first camera this spring, and have decided to go with a sony handycam. Do any of you recommend a certain one? How do you like them? Pros and cons? Looking to spend around 600 or less on just the cam. Also, what accessories? Thanks

Justin I agree, but I would be worried as if the camera itself isnt high enough quality?? Lowlight and mic jacks etc

Very good point. Lots of goodies come with it too....do you use one of these? It looks like a good camera. I will have to take that into account. Will it be that much better than a 5-600 handycam do you think? I do not know much about all the "camera lingo"

Oh $hit... I had no clue, i just found the cheapest one i could find online. Thanks for letting us know man. But back to the camera, its a really nice camera. I dont have it yet but as soon as i find a new website with a fairly good price il probably order one. Ive seen plenty of videos about it, read reviews- its a hell of a camera for the money. Sorry about the link guys, i didnt know they were scammers!

Well dont bother with that sight- seems to be a scam that i wasnt aware of. What i can tell you though is that its a pretty good camera. I saw another link online like 2 weeks ago and they were asking $650 for the camera new. Maybe look on ebay or craigslist.

No problem..... Just didnt want others to think that they were a scammer. I figured you just worded it wrong.

cambell's is a reputable name in the outdoor film industry obviously, as a type of distributor/site. I have always liked them. I like their whitetail package and wish i could afford one of their professional cams, i just dont think that camera is where I want to start.
