My son and I both have had a hard time getting something we wanted to shoot in range with our bows. He has been keeping count and this deer was #38 that he has seen and has only passed on 1 small buck. Nothing else has been in range or open. Finally, last night right at last light, a doe walked across the field and he shot her at 142 yards. He was using a muzzle loader, with it being the early weekend season. He shot her right through the front shoulders but when she was running through the woods, she impaled herself through the stomach. Nasty is an understatement. We let her lay overnight because we weren't sure of the hit and it was a good thing because she crawled under some brush and i doubt we would have found her in the dark. Yea, he is growing up and turning into a heck of a shot. He's taken 300 yard shots with his 30-06 and hit where he was aiming on targets. Thanks guys Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
My initial reaction to a 142 yard bow shot was Then I finished reading that it was with his smoke pole; then I was Great shooting, you must be very proud of him.
That would be impressive, especially at 45# and a 25" draw length.:D Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
I've known a few guys who would try it. I have a bad habit of Speed Reading things and miss the details... I've been zapped a few times for it already by PT.
