The velvet deer is the trailcam buck and he has been a target for 3 years. He was passed on 4 years ago as a spindly 10pt by both my uncle and I. He was everywhere that year, I bet I saw him 10 times and my uncle may have watched him more than that. After that, well you know how it goes. I have written about my near miss with him last year, and my uncle saw him in the subdivision by where we hunt last night with a doe. He is impressive, but his body is what wows me...remember this is a Georgia deer. The last picture, well he just showed up, we have not laid eyes on him ever, and I think we would remember him. I plan to kill him tomorrow, as I have an east wind which we never get and I have a perfect place to smoke one, nestled up right between 2 bedding areas. I have 3 and 4 year old pics as well but cannot find them, if Rob reads this he has them and hopefully can post them. And the new guy on the block...he can hold my arrow as soon a daylight tomorrow.
I dont think I have ever seen a buck with tarsals as black as this one, he must piss steady! Maybe its a wound?
