    This isn't meant to be funny, but in the first pic it looks like there is a small potted plant attached to the side of the does face. Dang..my first thought was maybe bee stings..

    I thought a potted plant at first, too. Like a photoshopped picture. Poor thing!

    Yeah it looks like vegetation in the mass. Not sure what could have caused it but it really does look like a potted plant

    yeah I expanded the pic and it definitely looks like its a hole with vegetation in it, but as to what all the swelling is on both sides I have no idea. My first thought was she was shot through the jowls, it healed open, and she just happens to have a mouthful of leaves which is showing through the hole...but I dunno. I've never seen a deer stuff food in its cheeks like a chipmunk. You can definitely see in the 2nd pic that vegetation is sticking out on the left side.
    Cool catch. Put her on the ground this fall and let us know.

    My guess, shotgun slug through the bottom jaw, deer is doing it's best to eat.

    Wow!!! That blows my mind as to what has caused that. She looks pretty thin to as you can see her ribs.
