We had a spot up on top of the ridge where there was no water, I decided to take my boys kiddie swimming pool and make my own water hole. I took an area about 30 yards diameter circle and put the pool right in the middle of it. And then I planted a mini food plot all around it. The results were amazing!! I put like 5 gallons of water in it to start with and the rain kept it full the rest of the summer. The pictures will show the results.

Very nice Jimmy! I've also heard of guys using the black peanut pools that are used for landscaping.

I was thinking along the same lines but with a 5 gallon water jug and some pvc pipe with a u bend at the bottom making a type of dog watering dish that goes down only when drank.. trying to keep the water fresh so not to stagnate.

The deer actually like the stale water compared to the clean fresh water. That is what I have noticed.

My Dad offered me one of these pools a few years ago. I turned it down. :bash:

They are quite sturdy and would work well.

Nice work Jimmy! There's no doubt that water is a magnet! One of my best stands in Minnesota is near a small waterhole. I'm going to do something similar in my food plot here in Wisconsin.
