I have been using trailcams for 30yrs and I've never gotten a pic of these before. I think they are otters but having never seen an otter in person, I'm not sure. What do y'all think? Screenshot_20240731-084046.jpeg Screenshot_20240731-084021.jpeg

Yep they are otters. We have them every where in the county I live in Indiana. Usually trap 2 a year thats the limit a person but have caught more than that trapping beaver just have to turn them into the DNR. Cool pictures for sure.

I agree look like river otters. I have never seen them growing up. Then one year i got to hunt a new property. Saw multiple otters over the season on that property. Most were from the stand or blind. Very cool to watch. They also have some crazy big teeth on them. One hunt i had one run up to me and it got to 3 feet from me while i was on the ground. Just say i got a very close look at it!

Exactly why cameras are awesome! Never know when and where Bigfoot will show up. We once got a picture of an Emu that escaped from a farm.

Doing what they otter? A friend was trout fishing on one of the East Tennessee tailwaters. Had two otters start chasing each other around him and between his legs. Scared stiff, didn't move as they have sharp teeth. A fellow had a small pond with two goldfish who were probably eaten by recently introduced otters.

Don't know about all otters, but river otters can be very agressive. They're supposidly very territorial.

Yep we have a resident otter, lives on or near an island in the bay. Not a problem if you get close in a boat, kayaks seem to piss them off.
