I've been hunting since I was a kid and have made many memories. To me a rack/picture/mount is something I can look at to remember the hunt. Each of these animals bring back memories. Some where taken after years of chase while others were taken by chance encounters. I hope you enjoy my pictures. All were taken on public ground mostly off the ground with archery gear.

It's a long time until season comes in, I'm already stoked about the possibilty of taking a world class whitetail I've been following. I found his permanent bed last weekend and that was the final piece of the puzzel I needed to complete the bucks pattern.

Nice bucks! You must have some great ground to hunt. What part of West Virginia do you reside?

I hunt several states and areas from Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois and Wv. I live in Northern Wv and even though I taken a few nicer deer locally most have come from the remote, wilderness of Southern Wv. Saying that my largest (180+) came from right behind my house. I think he must have migrated in from across the river because he just appeared out of nowhere. It is odd how the giants just show up.

If your interested in hunting a good lease in the bow counties check out www.almostheavenoutfitters.com. I'm good friends with the owner and he would treat you like family. I've only been a member for one year but saw significant big buck and sign in the few days I was there. I would say it is hands down the best lease in Southern WVa.

Thanks guys, the good lord smiled on me enough to allow me the time to pursue my passion. As far as my largest body size, I really don't know because they weren't officially weighed. I did have a couple fairly significant numbers though. One buck had 167# of wrapped/deboned meat as reported to me by the butcher. Another was 9' 6" long from end of the nose to his back hooves; they weren't my largest though. I've also taken some really small ones with big racks like a 106# 160 class 9 pointer and several 150's that were around 145-150 pounds on the hoof. My largest racked buck probably weighed 190# dressed and a little over 200# on the hoof (180+"--12 point ). The largest body size??? Two guys couldn't drag it more than 10 feet without resting. It took 4 guys to load it in the back of my truck and had a 33" neck midway down. It was fun to put him down but sort of stupid reflecting back on it.

No book yet but I have a guy wanting to help me publish one and another guy offering to do illustrations. I have not taken the time to really pull it all together related to working long hours. I do have it saved in a document form and have been working on it in my spare time cleaning it up. Several have requested the document. All I need is the e mail of those interested and I'll gladly forward you what I have, just realize it is unfinished.
