    ...why do you start a thread when you know its eventually gonna blow up and get locked? :bash:

    Actually its the other way around. Just wait until the season starts. The only difference will be there are more hunting related topics. Then the trolls come out of the woodwork. The water cooler discussions are filled with mostly long time members, and most handle the conversations in a civil manner. There are only a few that let their emotions get the best of them time and time again.

    The topics don’t get shut down because they are controversial. Its not the subject matter. If everybody was an adult and used logic rather than emotion, there would be fewer closed threads. The current abortion thread is an outstanding example. Its thoughtful, well mannered and substantive. I wonder if it will stay that way?? If not it wont be because of the subject matter.

    What trolls? Just about everyone posting in those controversial threads were long-time veterans of this forum and the forum that gave rise to this one as well.

    I'm not new, its just a new account ;) I've been on here a little while. And I know they don't get locked because of the issue itself, but how people respond to the topic and say certain things i.e. the CO wildfires, which wasn't controversial at all until someone made it.
