Has anyone had the opportunity to shoot a Hoyt carbon defiant, and a Mathews Halon? I'm in the market for a new bow and I would like some input from anyone on this forum who has had the opportunity to put these two bows into practical application. whats your thoughts?
I drew both bows a couple weeks ago, and can tell you that although the Carbon Defiant weighs next to nothing (which is awesome), the Halon draws soooo much smoother... it's not even close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I prefer the Defiant. This year I too decided to get a new bow and I put both the Hoyt and the Mathews through its paces. I found I liked the Hoyt better but instead of going with the carbon I went with the Pro which put a little money towards a sight. I think I just prefer Hoyt since they seem to be tougher in my experience. I don't like to fix things, I like to set them, and use them in the field.
while you are looking check out the Reign 6 from Bowtech. Quiet, fast and shoots nice for a 6 inch brace height
Check out the G5 Prime Centergy while your at it. I gave up Mathews and Hoyt a while ago and now have 3 Prime bows and looking to buy another Century Hybrid now.
