Has anyone had the opportunity to shoot a Hoyt carbon defiant, and a Mathews Halon? I'm in the market for a new bow and I would like some input from anyone on this forum who has had the opportunity to put these two bows into practical application. whats your thoughts?

I drew both bows a couple weeks ago, and can tell you that although the Carbon Defiant weighs next to nothing (which is awesome), the Halon draws soooo much smoother... it's not even close.

I prefer the Defiant. This year I too decided to get a new bow and I put both the Hoyt and the Mathews through its paces. I found I liked the Hoyt better but instead of going with the carbon I went with the Pro which put a little money towards a sight.
I think I just prefer Hoyt since they seem to be tougher in my experience. I don't like to fix things, I like to set them, and use them in the field.

while you are looking check out the Reign 6 from Bowtech. Quiet, fast and shoots nice for a 6 inch brace height

Check out the G5 Prime Centergy while your at it. I gave up Mathews and Hoyt a while ago and now have 3 Prime bows and looking to buy another Century Hybrid now.
