I'm thinking of getting the All Outdoor package from the RIDEM office, you get 3 antler tags, and 5 antlerless...not that I will/want to get all these bucks, basically I don't want to tag out first week of the season!!!!

EDIT: well,,,,,if allo goes well of course!!

Swamp. How much is the All Outdoor package again? I can't remember the price difference. Last season I got them one tag at a time. Shot my doe went and got another tag the next day. I was thinking of going the package this year but will prob just stick with the one tag at a time. I don't wanna end up with more prepaid tags at the end of season.

    Thanks pastorjim!!!

REMY, im gonna have to call to get specifics. I know the AO license is $75, and im sure each tag costs something too! im still hemming and hawing over it....I don't plan on getting more than a buck and a doe...but I will be a mental case rocking back and forth if I tag out early!!!!

Yeah each tag is $12.50. I don't think you can tag out early really because you can buy a tag the next day if you take the stub into the shop. That's why I'm gonna do it individually. You can still get up to 5 does and 3 bucks "1 per season"(meaning 1archery 1shotgun 1muzzleloader) but you are allowed to use a bow for the gun seasons if you like. That's how it was explained to me.

The All Outdoors Package was $75.00. You received a total of 8 tags (3buck, 5 doe). If you do the math it's a good deal. Too bad most guys are buying the package just to take 3 bucks. I did not hear of a price increase during the recent regulation hearing.

Yeah and individually the same tags end up costing $100 even. So you can save $25. Last season I only harvested 1 doe so I always had 1 buck and 1 doe tag on me with only buying an extra 1 doe tag. So that was $37.50 in tags purchased.

I do plan on and hope to do better than 1 doe this season but would rather just buy tags individually as to not spend $75 right out of the gates and still only end up with one deer in the freezer.

That's just my view on the subject. :)

I agree with ya remy, normally in the past I would never consider one, but I have a feeling this year will be different!

Joe - Only major changes were dates. There were no major discussions during the hearing so what DEM has posted on the web site should stay the same.

Your "secondary" spot looks pretty darn good!
I have purchased the All outdoors package since the beginning of the program. Most years I have taken 2 or 3 deer. I figure that the rest of my tag money goes to other hunting programs, which is good for the state. I have not heard of anyone who has managed to use all of the outdoor tags. The program must be working fairly well as they increased the number of packages from 300 to 350. Of course the idea is that hunters will take more does.

    Regards
    Smitty

That's a very good point Smitty!! I never really looked at it like that. I think you've swayed me in the AO package direction. :D I just soooo can't wait for Sept 15th.
