Rob... I don't think all Yankees suck. Some of y'all are alright I reckon. And y'all have some good deer hunting. I just think Dixieland is a better place overall. Hoytee-Toytee just struck a nerve.
Like it or not there has been a lot of cash sitting on the sidelines for several years now. Cash reserves are at all times highs in almost every sector. This election is only one of many factors that comes into play when investors decide where to invest. Perceptions shape thoughts and facilitate actions. Its not an uncommon perception right now that this second term administration is not going to be business and investment friendly.
Can we somehow get back to the fact that this plant was failing long before Obama was re-elected, and his election to a 2nd term isn't the real reason they shut their doors? What would have been different had Romney been elected that would have kept their doors open? Even if he got the nod for Pres, he wouldn't be sworn in for 3 months yet. Then once he was sworn in it would've been another few months before any sort of real legislation could have been passed, and likely months or years before the effects of said legislation would be felt throughout the economy. Of course that's assuming anything worthwhile would actually be passed and the economy would be improving. Let's face facts here - that business was going down the tubes one way or another. They just used the election so they had someone to blame other than themselves and give right-wing pundants and their mindless followers something to complain about.
While this is very true, let's not forget that the policies of the pre-Obama administrations are what caused the ultimate crash that sent investors running to stash everything in their mattress. We can assume all we want that another person in office would loosen their pocketbooks, but that's just an assumption. My personal guess that is even with a Republican in office it's going to be a long time before you see companies spending money like they used to. Way too many people got burned last time and they're awful gun shy. I'm no Obama supporter by any means, I just like to look at the truth of things when assigning blame.
While politically you and I might be aligned, that's about it. Belittling people and just being an outright ******* doesn't bode well for any intellectual discussion. You're making yourself look ignorant in the way that you speak towards people. Perhaps you're young, perhaps naive, perhaps not, but the way you address people will never help you accomplish anything other than a general distaste for what you have to say. While, politically, I'm at odds with most of the people on here, I don't think many people hate me for it. I think you're working your way towards that. All that in 9 posts, has to be some sort of record.
Yanks kicked your a** once, they'll will do it again....because of superior smarts. Texas's greatest claim to fame is getting their a** kicked at the Alamo, big whoop!!
Little Texas sang "God Bless Texas" lol... And Hoytee... Did you just throw a Civil War reference up?
I didn't read the article (I will come back and read it when I have time) but, I do have to agree with Justin about so many giving any ONE pres all the credit for the condition our country is in overall. It will take many more years than 4 to fix what WE have gotten ourselves into. Honestly, most of us on this site wouldn't live long enough to see it fixed. Improve maybe but, not fixed. It amazes me to see some of the thoughts people have and how quickly they place blame.
Not sure which I prefer....sitting back and keeping tabs on Fitz's journal or waiting to see when Hoytee is going to be banned. I'd use some choice words but I won't, but somebody needs a timeout or a nap.
