Plots don't look nearly as good as last year yet, it has been dry! need some moisture. Some look good others aren't germinated in spots.

this is a small kill plot, planted to red wheat, oats, clover, and sweet blue lupine. [IMG]

Here is a up close pic of the sweet blue lupine, I am excited to see how this stuff works and how the deer respond to it, first year growing it. this is two weeks from seeding!

This is my ladino clover plot in it's 2nd year, looks good. Mowed it a month ago, good lush growth coming for fall!

This is Sainfoin, it grows mostly in the west, I put this in three years ago, it is a perenial in the lupine family. The deer pound it!

This is a 1/4 acre plot of brassicas planted 13 days ago.

After 5 years my persimmon trees are finally taking off, they have been a bugger to try and get to grow here! But the ones that have made it have adapted to our winters!

The sawtooth oaks made it out of the 5 ft tree tubes in the second year!

Here is an apple tree i planted a few years back, he is loaded up this year! can't wait to see my fruit trees in a few years!

And of course a lovely sight in the plot, buck track as big as my coffee mug!

    Lots of fun!

Nice work. Looks like things are progressing well. I'm hoping to start doing this on one of my hunting areas.

Pics look good! Will be interested to see how you like the SBL, more importantly how the deer like it! I planted some also about the same time you did.

Great pics!! I think I have 4 persimmon trees that have survived over the last few years since planting, out of I think a dozen. One of the 4 is growing like crazy, 2 are doing so-so and one the tall stem died and it sprouted from the base again.

Nice job. You may want to put 3 foot high aluminum window screen around the apple tree trunks so Voles don't girdle them in the winter.
