I wasn't able to get any hunting in last year for various reasons. Life right? I was able to squeeze in a weekend and got some luck. This guy was pretty active on the trail cams. I sat out Saturday morning and not much was moving. That afternoon, this guy comes walking by at about 45 yards but he was in some thick undergrowth. Was nice to see him still moving around since the area around is pretty active during season. Sunday morning was very windy and I wasn't seeing anything moving. Around 8 A.M. he approaches in front me and I took the shot while he was at 15 yards. He was found about 40 yards from where I shot him. The unusual thing was, he didn't bleed...externally.
Great job! I'd love to be down there this next week or so before gun season. I was there a week ago and it was warm. I had a chance at a nice 10 but shot a bit too low. The corn was still up around my buddies property so that didn't help, hope it's down by the 18th.
