im trading a guy my muzzle loader that has not been used in 7 or 8 years. he said he would trade me two climbers for the gun. i need a new climber and he gave me the choice of:

    Summit Shooter Boss 2
    Summit Cobra

there is also another one but it is just about new but he didnt know the brand. it is an enclosed style cable climber.

does anyone have any knowledge on the two summit stands?

and also how hard are the open style climbers to use, i have always climbed with the enclosed type?

I have the Summit Cobra, and I can tell you it's a pretty heavy climbing stand. If you used to the older steel ones, then it won't be that big of a difference, but if your used to the super light aluminum ones, then it's going to be heavy. The climber is a good climber though, I have had no problems with it whatsoever. The Cobra is an open faced one, which means you will have to pull up on your forearms, which can be a struggle if your used to the ones where you sit on your butt. Both are older tree stands, so with that knowledge you make the decision that would best befit your situation.
