www.insanearchery.com It's the easiest. I'm not at the point where I want to screw with a camera arm. This is the way to go IMO if you just want a simple way to film your own hunts. I have it on my bow and I think it is great for what I want to do.
2 ways to do it. You can click on my youtube link and watch videos recorded with my JVC Everio MS-110 (about $130) and my Armistep tree arm (about $100) Click on the 720 res. also. The other is to get a bow mounted set up or make something to put your phone in as I also did Made mine for $6.20. I have a Samsung Galaxy S I put in it.
Get a helmet cam so whatever your looking at its filming if you want cheap and easy. Oregon scientific and go pro make several types.... Your not going to get great quality out of these but if you just want a point of view then this is it.
I personally use the Kodak PlaySport Zx3 HD camera. It's about $100-$120 on the net. You can also buy it at most retail stores like BestBuy, Walmart and Target. To enhance the camera, iStyles has an awsome MossyOak camo skin for it at http://www.istyles.com/breakup-kodak-playsport-skin-p-52180.html. I'm considering offering a "Kodak bundle" package from the InsaneArchery website that will include a camera mount, a Kodak PlaySport Zx3 and a MossyOak camo skin. If you want to see the PlaySport quality, have a look at the videos on the InsaneArchery website... many of those videos were recorded using the Kodak PlaySport Zx3 camera. BTW - I have a business in Waukesha, WI... where are you located?
I have a Kodak AF 3x i have thought about making a mount for but, the stupid thing makes this dinging sound every time you turn it on and I can't find my manual for it to turn it off. If I can figure it out I will be making a sinmple mount for mine. I have all the tools to make one.
I think it would be cool to put a cam looking back toward the shooter for a second angle...Cant imagine video would stay steady on the deer after the shot?
There is no question this is the drawback to this arm. You lose that 1 second while you take the shot. If you need a perfect video then this is not the arm for you. If you don't want to screw with a camera arm and want something cheap and easy that works pretty well, this is the way to go IMO. I used a camera arm for about a half a season before I said the heck with it. This is happy medium for me.
I'm not sure I understand your question. You can get pricing and payment options on the InsaneArchery website (www.InsaneArchery.com). I'll PM you with my phone number... it might be easier if we just talk on the phone. I'll also be exhibiting at DeerFest (http://www.deerfestwi.com/Default.aspx), July 22-24 in Oshkosh, WI.
There is a new product that has a camera that you can attatch to your hat, like one of those clips with the light that attatches to the brim, but itis a video camera
I-Kam Extreme is a great camera.. VERY light weight and long taping times.. Multi ways of mounting.. I have a small video camera that mounts on my stabilizer that is AWSOME .. I also have the camo glasses that record video/audio for hours... I video tape all my hunts with BOTH cameras.. This way, I video tape what the bow is facing AS WELL as every where I turn my head.. I put both the videos together, and get an AWSOME tape of the hunt !!!!
Here are the 2 that I have and work great !!!!!!!!!! The glasses come with 4 lenses.. (Clear, Yellow, Brown, Smoke), charger, all cables, case, etc... (4 hour video time) Camera comes with 4 mounting brackets, same cables, mini SD card (4-5 hour video time) All are "Plug -N- Play applications.. Just plug into LapTop/Computer and it downloaded the video !! I use it on the airboat, hunting, 4 wheeling, shooting, A great combination for videoing your hunts
The problem with the Midland XTC150VP2 is that it is standard definition 640 x 480 resolution! Not 720P or 1080P HD... that a big negative. Also, it doesn't have rechargeable batteries so you have to keep replacing AA batteries. There also doesn't appear to be a viewing screen so how do you know what it's recording. Does it have any zooming capabilities??? As far as the bow mount is concerned, it doesn't go behind the stabilizer, it actually replaces the stabilizer - I wouldn't want something that requires me to remove my stabilizer to record my hunt. Look at the bow mount from InsaneArchery, it's much more versatile and can be placed in several locations on your bow (i.e over the stabilizer - not replacing it, on the riser, on the sight, etc.) But, I do think the i-Kam is a very cool concept, my only concern is that I've tried to shoot my bow with sun glasses on and it wasn't easy and didn't feel natural. I guess like anything, you'd have to practice with the glasses on to get comfortable.
