The design makes sense. I have shot the carbon express XT 4 blade and it penetrates very very well. It does not have the same warranty as the solid but design is similar. If you try them let us know your thoughts.

I used them exclusively this year, added 5 more deer to my take with them.
In some ways they are overkill for deer, but with that said there is nothing about them that will ever under perform.
I experimented a bit with the 3/4 bleeders on them, excellent results and will probably stick with them vs the 1/4 for game up to elk size game.

I used both the 100 and the 125....I can't see much difference tuning either. They both are able to be shot better then i could ever shoot any any distance. Keep in mind that the heavier Solids have increased cutting diameter ...that may not what want for larger and thicker skinned game.

Broadheads are hobby of mine...I buy and play with a lot.

I think these are the best designed head i ever shot.

For whitetail would you suggest the .5" or .75" bleeder?

If I was buying them new and had a choice, for whitetails I would probably go with the .75 in the 100 grains and the .5 in the 125 grains.
This would apply to any thin skinned game

    Great info, thanks.
How did you find the tuning of these compared to FP's?
Did you buy direct, is there some other retailer for these?

I also used these heads this years and they did great job. I have 100 gr. with .5 bleeder and with the first deer I shoot this year I had a steep angle at 20 yards. The blew thru with no problem, breaking ribs on both sides and stuck about 10" into rocky soil after pass thru. I think it was a little over kill but worked, the blades did get knick up pretty bad from the rocks. I was able to sharpen the blades back and the head shot fine and went back in the quiver. My second experience, I had one stick into a 2" maple branch. Instead of cutting it out I tried to pull and wiggle it out and I ended up cracking the ferrule. That was my fault. Other than that I believe these are great heads and will be using them next year.

After I bare shaft tune at 10 yards and then a walk back tune. I haven't found any fixed blade heads that I couldn't Broadhead tune compared to my field points. Solids included.

Now with that said, in my experience not all broadheads shoot as well as other, I honestly feel that design and tolerances play a bigger roll then is the currently popular current held belief.

You hear statement on these forums say things like" all broadheads will shoot good if your bow is tuned ...ect ect "

I haven't found that to be the case. And group shooting test broadheads from shooting machines agree with me.

So intend to look for heads that are consistent and have very close tolerances, built with better then the industry standard materials.
Solids really fit that description well.

I agree with trial153, these broadheads are built better than most and can be shot thru multiple game and sharpened relatively easy after each kill. I just got tired of shooting a dear and throwing away the head. This broadhead has fixed that problem for me, and the 6 I have now I hope will last many years. In the long term investment, the Solids will be a better option.

This shows the difference in the over all size between the 100 vs the 125grain
