LOL I am always taken the wrong way on the forums!!! What I really meant by that was I can imagine people taking selfie's and crap with the sunlight behind them. That is all it was meant to be a joke Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We watched the doves start flying like crazy. Must've thought "Crap it's already time to roost. We didn't even eat dinner!" Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Had a facebook friend comment saying they couldnt find eclipse glasses but some really dark sunglasses worked really well. And they were serious
I drove from St.Paul, MN to Torrington, WY to see it. Was gonna watch it in St. Joseph, MO but kept getting pushed further West because of forecasted cloud coverage. Was totality worth it. Wasn't my idea but glad I got dragged along. Road trip was a blast too. Gonna try and see the next one in 7 years.
Have to be careful with diet in that thing, gas could be more catastrophic than the dino killing Chicxulub impact.
Speaking of crazy stories. My brothers friend booked a hotel in Casper, Wyoming a year ago for normal price. A couple months ago he got a phone call saying his reservation had been moved 100 miles to a different city. He tried rebooking and they wanted $2,400 for a room. Casper was a hot spot because it typically has clear skies as well as I'm sure the ability to take an extended vacation in the mountains. I heard 700,000 people from Colorado flooded Wyoming which has a population of 500,000. Our phones were down for a couple hours as a result of the increase. If anybody here follows cloud coverage for astronomy reasons check out www.cleardarksky.com and look at the clear sky charts. I learned that's what the die hards follow instead of AccuWeather or some of the others sites.
My xm radio was in and out for a bit. That's all I can contribute. Thanks for the pics I don't feel like I missed anything Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good thing you didn't come to St. Joe. It was a total let down here! Raining and heavy cloud cover pretty much the entire time. There were a couple times we got a glimpse at it through the clouds, but that was it.
These two were, interesting. The shadows from trees and the ghosted image of the eclipse in the flare.
I went hunting. We were at almost 90% eclipse and it just got a bit dim out. Like I put on dark sunglasses. No difference in critter movement that I could tell. It got darker a couple hours later when a thunderstorm moved in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Couldn't of been any worse than the high quality glasses the gas stations around here were selling for 2 bucks. Was cloudy here so didnt see much of it. Saw some cool pics kn fb tho from NASA and few others. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
