I have Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram

I use Twitter a lot because its like cliff notes for the news. If after 140 characters the news sounds interesting I click the link and read the entire story. If it doesn't I move on. Its really handy for breaking sports news.

Facebook and Instagram are nice to keep in touch with people you hardly ever see but still have an interest in how things are going with them.

There is a lot of garbage associated with all three but they are still good tools.

Facebook and snapchat here. Facebook to keep in touch with people and share as much hunting crap as I can to win stuff. Also use it to make myself feel good about myself as sad as that sounds. Man some of the stuff people put on there is ridiculous and I cant figure out why they would make it public knowledge.

Snapchat is nice for bragging to people about how many fish I catch or geese I shoot. That's about all me or any of my friends use snapchat for.

It can all definitely be misused though that's for sure.

I have none of it and I never will. I don't want the world to know what I'm doing and I don't want to know what the rest of the world is doing.
My wife is a facebook junkie. Its pathetic how much time she pizzes away on that site.

No Facebook here anymore. Took it down some time back, and just never bothered to reactivate it. I have thought about getting a Twitter account. Not for me to go on there and spill out knowledge, but to use it as a way to get quick news from my follows.

Social media is a new thing so it will take awhile for people to acquire internet etiquette.

Overall, I think it's a great thing. People can't get away with as much because social media is a window to what's going on in the world. People also get to connect with others which is never a bad thing.

And I have the typical three - Facebook, twitter and instagram.

It's really no different than being on this forum.

I have Facebook and Twitter. I don't really like FB, but use it to keep in touch with family mostly. Most of the people I follow on twitter I don't know in real life, but tweet about things interesting to me. Most Cleveland Indians related...

This forum is my only social networking, if it was anything like Facebook I wouldn't be on it.

    Have you won anything?

I think forums are a bit different then facebook. You can go in depth and acutally carry on conversations opposed to just posting little things and people just assuming things about it. General concept is there - but they're slightly different. But, still, social networking.

I'm not on Facebook, so I could be wrong. But isn't Facebook a lot more personal? You can communicate with people here, but you would not know them or meet them in real life.

Well, on facebook you can also add a bunch of people you don't know. It's supposed to be more personal, yes, but it's VERY similar to a forum in a lot of ways.

Also the fact many don't keep private, so it's just as public (or more) than forums.

Its all in how you use it.

I think its good potential employers use it to screen employees. You can learn tons from one if they don't have it private.

I have 4000+ Facebook 'friends'. Obviously, I don't know them all, nor do I care. My profile is public and I've only removed a few people over the years. I don't get worked about what people post for the most part. Really racist, pornographic, or anti-American stuff will bring out the axe. Posting 400 pics of your food, puppy or annoying memes will not. I just scroll past it. I don't even care about the game requests. Lol

I do like fb. I like seeing what people are up to. I keep track of my more distant family and harass my close friends on there. We also worked on fighting bad illinois legislation and rules via private groups.
