I gotta tell ya. I don't usually understand Jeff's humor and don't normally see the humor but THAT my friends is freakin hysterical!!
Excellent video Tony regardless of what happened, you got a good smile out of me. That's bowhunting my friend, weirder things can happen. Better luck next time buddy!!
Ok ...just watched the video again ... it was more painful; today anyway, thanks to all of you that have posted encouraging words .... most of all, thanks again to Rob for a FABULOUS 3 hunts - 1/2 an hour :p I am looking forward to tomorrow's NY opener .... I will keep you posted ...only of my success, tho I love you guys .... :D be gentle
I shot the next day and I am killin the bull at 30 ..and getting coffee mug groups at 40 ... I choked ...bottom line ... oh, for those that were worrying that I was hidind, I wasn't ... at a rally last night (David Jeremiah) and worked 14 hours overnight until a few minutes ago :p SOME of us on here DO work
Cool video. Even though I knew you were going to miss, I still felt I was watching it hoping you would make the next shot! You're handling it well, that is good to see. Any doubt you might have will go away with the next good shot.
I was gonna say buck fever but some people get offended by it. Heck, I still get the shakes when I have a nice buck in range. The day I lose that feeeling I'll probably find a new sport to get the adrenaline rush back... You'll be fine and I'm sure you'll connect with an even bigger deer...:D
Where do you think I get most of my posting done? If it weren't for work I'd probably never be on the computer because I'd be out shooting, hunting, or scouting. Good luck in NY Tony.
LOL Tony. Like I told you in the tree, it sure does happen. Great time bud, great time. There will be more.
LOL with you Tony , not at you . I loved the line " Well I've often said that i suck , i just proved it tonight " . . I suppose thats why its called Bowhunting , can't get'em everytime . Hope you get your bow sited back in , better luck next time fella .
Tony I have a lot of admiration for coming on here and taking your lumps from everyone. I remember a hunting custom that I was introduced to when I was younger. A miss equals some shirttail, I can only imagine that you looked like Tarzan in his loin cloth when you got back to Rob's. Fortunately hunting's not like baseball or you would have had to sit down after that third strike.
Cool video..I dunno why but I didn't have any sound. Better luck next tme Tony. Look at it this way, someone was going home happy, this time it was Mr Lucky7
Great video! Don't sweat it Tony, these things happen. Next time you'll probably make a fantastic shot in a more difficult shooting situation. Years ago I was hunting opening day here in Illinois, our property was full of friends and I hear in the distance what I think is a war starting, I mean I'm hearing gun shot after gun shot and I'm thinking "there's gotta be a herd of deer moving through the fields" Well one of the guys in our hunting group (a friend of my father-in law from Italy), who was an experienced hunter (40 plus years of hunting) took nine..yes "9" shots at a big ole buck directly 10 yards in below him with his slug gun. It was absolutely hilarious to hear him (in broken English) tell the story. He said he saw the buck standing there, he took a shot...then another, the deer was walking slowly then would stop and look around. He shot again...another miss. He re-loads, shoots three more times, re-loads again and again shoots three times and misses. All the while he says the deer is just moving around in this area from 10 yards to 40yards out in front of him eating and looking around like "what the hell is wrong with you, why can't you hit me?". He said it was like the deer was "begging to be shot...taunting me...shoot me ..go on and try!" He had one more shell left (he had two boxes with him) but decided to not try for the last shot.....he said (jokingly) he wanted to use it on himself but said "the way things were going I'd probably miss". The deer ended up walking away and he shot a nice doe the next day. I still to this day laugh just thinking about his story.
