NOT!!! I'm suppose to leave in the AM for 8 days of fishing in Northern Ontario. I'm still not packed. (I know....why are you on the computer duffus?) But it's been hell the past few days. This outfit from Canada is down treating the West Branch of Fish Creek and some of it's tributaries. They're inducing this poison that's suppose to only kill Lamprey eels. Well, we wanted to do some checking to see what else it may kill. Being the retired guy....myself and one other guy were the only ones from our fish club available to do some stream surveying looking for dead fish, insects and all that stuff. So for the past 3 days, twice a day, when I should have been packing I've been walking streams and checking dead water for dead critters. Also our one test tank is down stream from a major tributary the hit pretty hard with the poison. Had to check our fish 3 times a day to see if they started dying. Luckily, everything looks cool. The only thing I saw was a mud puppy in severe distress. I talked to one of the Kanucks and he said they have about the same tollerances as an eel and will be killed. No big loss.... a trash fish.

To top it off my one brother has been in the hospital for 3 days with a bad bout of divertiulitis and colitis.

Then I have to walk my other brothers dog 4 times a day. Then between rainstorms today I mowed my lawn one last time. Had to drive to town to the bank to get a bunch of cash. Have washed 5 loads of clothes in the past 2 days. Bedding takes up a lot of room. LOL I tell ya... retirement isn't easy. Everyone thinks you have nothing to do and are available for everything. I get 2 days off a week from doing our fish in the hatchery. The dude that was suppose to do them yesterday "FORGOT". The tanks were a mess. I had to go swimming in the pond to clean out the intakes for our warm secondary water supply that mixes with the cold spring water. Adjust an measure flow rates etc etc etc. I mixed enough food for the time I'm gone etc etc etc. I tell ya... retirement is too damn much work....PERIOD. 8 days of playing, fishing, drinking and other forms of grab arse starts tomorrow. Hurray for time off from retirement.

Hope you have lots of fun on your trip. I'm glad you're still strong and healthy enough to do all that stuff.
