hahaha, my gun season opened almost two months ago and is going strong, the rut is just starting..these big public land bucks around here have been on full lock down since early Oct with all the elk, deer and bear hunters running around. I am looking forward to these next two weeks of rutting action and then Dec's bow only season. Then ND after Christmas.. then Montana in Jan. I'll eat a tag before I shoot a young buck or fill it with a doe late season.

I'm still left, but luckily for me down here in the south, the rut is still going strong. I saw 4 bucks chasing a doe this morning and there are new rubs and scrapes popping up daily in my woods. I'm a big fan of the late season down here as well because there isn't a lot of food sources around our place. The acorn crop was terrible and hunting the late season feed should be great. There are a LOT of deer at our place in NW oklahoma and lots of young deer that come in really late, December is actually my favorite time to hunt there.

    Anyway, you're right... you're not alone.:d

I'm still going strong as well.

I'll be out this weekend and all week looking for an Illinois doe while the gunners in WI destroy the woods up north. Then I'll be out following that gunner week in WI (on public) looking for another doe.. so that I may earn a buck tag for the remainder of this season.

And in between I'll be filming Justin and his quest for dominating a buck in Illinois.

Mr. Willand - I believe that if you whack a doe in WI this fall and earn your buck tag, it's good for next season as well. Keep that in mind in your quest my friend. :tu:

Heck, I'm just getting started!...Being sidelined from my back operation, I'm just now (last couple weeks) hitting the woods. I agree though, it's going to be tough sledding from here on out but I've taken some nice deer later in the season before.....I only hope I can do so this year as well. Heck I already consider this to be a win year for me. I never thought I'd be able to hunt at all after I hurt my back, so it's all good!

I feel a nice "Thanksgiving weekend buck" in my future.:deer:

Depressingly, I just counted and I have 14 unfilled tags between 3 states... The bad part is that I had 15 tags to start with :bash:

I'll be at it all next week because I am off!

I've got a doe and buck tag left and I know where a very good 8 pt. is running around just begging me to shoot him, unless somebody gets him this weekend with a gun.

    I still have a tag.

This has been THEE most frustrating season ever. I've seen 3 deer (no idea how many sits, but quite a few). Well, 2.25 deer. I saw a shooter, a fawn (dead), and the legs of another.

I thought about hanging the bow up until next year, but I'm pissed, and I decided I WILL kill another deer before the season is out.

    That is all.

It's been tough for me too but I will be taking taking full advantage of this coming week(Wed-Sun) with the break from school. It may be fridged but I think the action is better when those bucks peel off of the does and go looking for their last chance at love :deer:

I would be on that list also. Say, can we shoot a buck w/a gun, & then stick it with a bow? Would that count? :deer: Just asking, sheeessh!
