If the Favre story couldn't get any more attention...

Hes lost both his starting receivers for at least a few weeks (They dont know Harvins return time)....

They singed Javon Walker, and today traded for Greg Camarillo.

I loved Javon Walker during his short stay in Green Bay, he was about to become elite when he had his training camp debacle and injury. He'll always be remembered for the Raiders Monday night game the day after Favre's dad died. But honestly, hes toasted. Apparently he had illegal in the U.S. surgery in Israel last year, and feels back to his 06' form. Right.

And Camarillo, this guy had only 46 receptions his entire college career! Granted he had 2 decent years as a slot receiver in Miami, but he is also coming off injury.

Also not to mention the always injured Bernard Berrian who has never lived up to expectations.

Its going to be very interesting to see how Favre does without 2 Pro Bowl receivers for the first half of the season.

    Thoughts?

History says Favre will still win more than he loses (I think only 1 losing season in his 19)...and I agree.

...still has one of the best RB's in the game.

Very important. if he holds onto the ball, he could easily lead the league in rushing this year.

Plus, the TE Shiancoe is healthy.

Still not Rice/Harvin. But if they can make it through the first 6 games 4-2 or 3-3....they still make the playoffs.

I would guess he is going to throw to the receivers, TEs, RBs, DBs, and safeties. A good quaterback makes good receivers.

College stats on a receiver that is going into his 6th season in the league? Really? He's had at least 50 receptions the last two seasons and one of those was cut short. Thats not terrible.

I agree Vito with good routes and some time together, a good qb can make receivers better.

There's also an option to just accept when everyone doesn't worship a sports figure like you do.

TJ didn't make Rice look to good but TJ sucks If you ask me. Farve helped Rice and showed people how good of hands the guy has. Hopefully Farve can do this with another receiver.

    Thanks for editing that, Tony.

This is exactly where these Favre threads go south. If a comment that doesn't walk lock-step with the worshippers appears....the personal attacks come out. It's uncalled for.

Rice is the only reciever that will for sure miss some time (Harvin practiced today) so I don't think the concerns are over blown. Berrian is a very dangerous reciever when healthy which he was not last season and Shiancoe is an excellent pass catching TE (11 td's last year). As long as some of these other guys stay relatively healthy while Rice is out I think they still have plenty of weapons.

This is exactly why (if you're ever wondering) these threads get locked.

Can you guys NOT make this about me, personally......and simply stick to the subject matter? Really?

Well, I sure hope that we have another steller year just like last year. I think our biggest concern is that Favre can make it thru the whole season without getting hurt. I think he will have a target on his back, and I believe that sooner or later he is going to take a hit that he dont get up from. Here is to 1 more good yer out of Favre.

Jeff, perhaps finding a forum where people will marvel at your linguistic superiority would be a better alternative versus trying to show your skills as a verbal elitist in a forum of bowhunting enthusiasts.

Perhaps looking up what "plausible deniability" means - instead of insulting someone would be much easier. It's really not that big a term.
