What are you doing this weekend?

I'll be heading to the cabin with the family and doing mostly "work".

Cut up trees I dropped on one of my plots a couple of weeks ago
Hopefully finish treestand work. Or at least get most of what is left
    Check cameras
Broadcast oats and Berseem in the dead Brassicas from last fall.
Spray any weeds that have come up
    Drink some beer.
Go get a driveway gate at Fleet Farm (they are on sale)
Start cutting up firewood to replenish what we burnt last year.

I'm going to the zoo with my wife and daughter on Saturday and I'll be camping on my property Saturday or Sunday night. I plan on shooting my bow, checking cameras, and just relaxing with cold beverages in hand by the fire. Then on Monday we are getting together with friends to fire up the grill. Basically I'll be enjoying the freedoms that our great military fought to preserve. Thank you to all who serve or have served, I know this man greatly appreciates it.

I need to box blade the new gravel on my drive way.
I have a load of lime screening that I need to spread out on the softball field that I'm building on my property.
I need to till and possibly plant my 3 acre soybean plot.
I'd like to set the poles for my backstop for the softball field.
We have a bonfire/cookout Saturday night.
Maybe work on pitching with my daughter at some point.

Hopefully I can get most of this accomplished

Daughter's 1st bday party tomorrow....will be so glad when that is over

Sunday will just relax with the family. Sunday brunch. Go to the park. The usual.

Monday I'll be taking the kayak out for the first time in months.

Tonight we will light the candle we put in the front window every memorial day weekend to symbolize that they may be gone, but definitely not forgotten. The candle is lit every evening during the weekend and extinguished when we go to bed. Tomorrow, I am spending the day with my son fishing. Sunday, I go to put flowers on family graves; and Monday is the day I pick a cemetery and stop at every veteran's grave and salute them.

    Hopefully get the kayaks out

I always stress when hosting a bunch of people at my house. And so does my wife. My wife is stressing because she wants everything to look perfect (damn Pinterest) and I'm stressing about if I'll have enough food for everyone.

Headed up North to the cabin after work today.
Yard needs seeding, I picked up a 60# bag of oats and a few bags of grass seed.
Were the last place in on a private drive that needs some work, we have craters not potholes to fill.
Hoping to get some fishing in.
Maybe most-importantly trying to keep Ticks off myself.

Ahhhhh. I thought you might not be happy about some guests (family). IDK, usually there is too much food at things like that. Good luck.

Yeah hosting can be stressful. We're hosting the Memorial day picnic, but luckily, it's just her family.

Well it might get interesting now that my wife's Dad has decided he is coming.

And regarding the food, I just don't know how many people are actually showing up because no one RSVP'd. We could have 60 people or we could have 20.

I'm making pulled pork and some tangy slaw for sandwiches and hot dogs for the kids. Guess I'll buy some extra hot dogs just in case, although I hate feeding adults hot dogs.

Yeah I think having a frozen/refridged contingency plan is a good idea. That way you only pull it out if needed. And if you don't need it you guys can eat it for the next week or so.

I'll be driving to the Navy Base early tomorrow to run on a "relatively" flat course. After that I'll be taking the chainsaw down to clear a lot of limbs that have fallen in our small back pasture. I've put that off long enough. Other than that, I don't have anything planned at all.

Between my wife and son traveling back to NY to visit family last week and me being in CA this week for work, unfortunately I've only seen my kid about an hour out of the last two weeks. So I have nothing planned but to hang with my wife and kiddo this weekend. We are thinking about going on a couple of outings somewhere but I'm not 100% sure yet where we will end up. We were thinking the zoo but we may go on a hike somewhere else instead.

My son graduates high school tonight. Cookout tomorrow evening with the family, and my sister turns 40 on Monday. I'll be ready to get back to work Tuesday to get some rest. :)

Hijack, but I saw Germ's kid's school is almost done already in Michigan as well. Is May a common time for high school graduations in the mid-west?

Yeah, its usually around Memorial Day weekend. He didn't have to take his finals so he's actually been out of school since Monday. I think the official last day is next Wednesday.
