Here is a perfect example of someone complaining about the system in which they take advantage of in the first place. Kinda like the people where I'm from that didn't work because they were "disabled" but you'd always see 'em drinking beer and working on cars or what have you. This lady needs to get here priorities straight. Also, maybe she should NOT have her pics taken in front of her big screen and xbox when complaining about not having the funds to pay her bills. http://www.macon.com/2010/12/16/1379464/funding-cuts-leave-many-without.html#disqus_thread
Don't get me started!!!!!!!!!! I work in a homeless shelter and I see this crap every freaking day!!!!!!!!!! Recently, the media put an interview out with some big fat woman that collects over $112K a year on welfare (not including food stamps, HEAP, Obama phone, etc) and she was complaining!! Dressed to the 9's, Dude! It is disgusting and I see it every day.
How is that even possible ($112K on welfare)? I'd believe it though especially the complaining part! I feel for the less fortunate and think they should be helped. Its the one's that don't need the help, complain about it, or use the money foolishly that get to me.
All the babies. They get so much money per baby. I think in this particular case she was claiming grandchildren, but I can't say for sure. I totally agree with helping the less fortunate. But if you see what I do, you would see that there are a lot less unfortunate people than the statistics show. there are however, a ton of drug addicted, drunk, bridge burners that soak off the system.
I love how that the more children you can push out, the more money you get! WTH....! I dont have any children yet, but I am 100% positive that when I do my place of employment is not going to pay me any different....!
I see this kind of thing everyday. I work as a construction project manager for the county housing authority. There are no incentives for people in public housing to leave. It can be really hard when your job is to provide a nicely remodeled free housing unit to someone that does not deserve it, and will not take care of what they have been given.
GREAT POINT!! Totally agree. I do want to be balanced and say this: My sister got divorced from her husband. She was a stay at home mother and they had 2 and 3 year old boys. She went on welfare, BUT in the process got her Masters degree and graduated Suma Cum Laude (sp) and is now a home owning teacher. This is not abuse, it is the way it is supposed to work.
I have people at my work saying the federal government should pay off everyone's credit cards and wipe the slate clean. I just sit there and begin to steam. I have paid off every bill I have ever received. I have run up 15K-20K credit card bills when major appliances, car repairs, and hospital visits have put my family in terrible financial situations. I have paid them all off. So why in the hell should someone even think that the federal government (my tax dollars) be used to pay off someone elses credit card bill? Unfreaking real. We have people at my work who make at least 150K with their combined spouses income, YET purposefully foreclosed on their homes so that they could move without incurring the loss on their home. Again, UNREAL. I am in the process of a serious background check for a job I am appying for and they wanted all my credit reports. I went back and looked and my wife and I have made every single payment on time for over 10 years together. I remember some months where I had to eat venison and pawn off very important sentimental items in order to make my mortgage payments. It makes me sick that other people think they can play the system.....BUT welcome to America where we allow idiots to abuse our financial systems on a daily basis. Our federal government via our votes actually encourages people to be helpless.
Only if more Americans were like you. Sounds like you've been through some rough patches but kept it together. Kudos to you, sir!
Finch, I've made stupid decisions as well that have adversely affected my financial situation (purchasing too much of a home, etc.), BUT I have owned up to those things and have worked hard (along with my wife) to rectify the situation. This economy has really killed my wife and I. It has cost us about 20K in lost wages over the past three years. I remember working in some HUD housing areas when I first graduated from college. The craziness that I witnessed would blow some of ya'lls minds.
